Your Guide to Summer and Festival Beauty
SKINCARE
After being in the sun all day wearing sun cream or surrounded by mud at a festival your skin will need a good clean.
We’ve said it time and time again but cleansing your skin is so important and the best thing you can do for your complexion. Try using a fresh and gentle cleansing gel – our natural organic Regenerating Face Wash is perfect for leaving your skin refreshed and clean and contains Vitamin C to protect from UV sun damage. Stay away from the wipes, as easy as they may seem, as they are not efficient enough.
Using an SPF 50+++ is critical for your health, protecting your skin and fighting against premature aging. Make sure you go for one specifically for your face, as it won’t clog up your pores. Try to stay out of the sun between 11-3 and get as much water as possible.
Keeping a skin mist in your beach bag is a great way of cooling down and adding extra hydration to the skin. Simply fill a spray bottle with half filtered water and half rose water. Spritz on when you’re hot or need a makeup refresh.
BODYCARE
Sun protection on your body is just as important as on your face. Using an SPF of 30 or above is advised. To prepare for summer, a body scrub is a great way of increasing circulation, exfoliating the skin and helping reduce the appearance of cellulite. Choose one with a sea salt base or make a DIY one with our hand scrub recipe here, just make a larger batch.
MAKEUP
We have written a post on a few ways you can switch up your everyday makeup routine. As well as these tips we suggest to go for long-wearing formulas for your lips and eyes and be sure to wear waterproof mascara when taking a dip in the sea so that you don’t come out looking all Panda eyed. Wear a lightweight tinted moisturiser either with an SPF or over your SPF, or a mineral powder as they let the skin breath when you may be perspiring in the sun.
In terms of festival makeup, a big trend this year is glitter around the cheekbones and around the temples. This can be done by dabbing vaseline on the areas you want and sprinkling glitter on (make sure it’s safe for facial use)
HAIRCARE
Sun, sea, pool water and sand can leave your hair under a lot of stress and can leave it damaged and dry Summer is the perfect time to give your locks some extra TLC. First of all, try to stay away from heat styling and let your hair go natural instead. If you struggle with frizz and you like to straighten your hair, try a sea salt spray for a beachhead look.

Once a week, try a restorative hair mask. The easiest thing to do is to heat up some coconut oil, smother all over your hair and scalp. Leave on for a few hours or even better- overnight. When you wash your hair it will be left soft, clean and hydrated.
