It’s the perfect time of year for a summer holiday. We’ve written about some good tips for making your makeup more summer appropriate and how to find the perfect skincare routine. Flying can be very drying and damaging to the skin so use your down time on the plane to treat yourself.

Arrive at the air port bare faced ready to treat your skin on the flight. If you feel the need to wear makeup, make sure you do a proper cleanse before the flight, you will need a cloth and water in order to ensure your makeup is all off! Using a wipe on the flight isn’t really good enough for a deep cleanse, so not wearing makeup is best.

Find a mask that works for your skin type. Sheet masks are great for planes as they don’t require rinsing off. If you’re skin isdry, look for one with hydrating properties to plump up your skin and to compensate for the dry air on the plane. If you’re skin is oily or you suffer with breakouts, you still need to take into consideration the fact that planes dry out the skin. To make your own sheet mask dip fabric pieces into your favourite serum and place on your face for as long as you want. How about using our Rose Renew serum to deeply hydrate and renew the skin.

Keeping hydrated on a flight is crucial for your skin, energy levels and mood. It prevents headaches as well. Take as much water on the flight as you can (buying a 2L bottle after security is the best way) and keep topped up throughout the duration. In terms of topically hydrating your skin a rose toner is great. Simply mix rose water and distilled water and put into a spray bottle. Use liberally to keep your complexion plump.

As you sleep, your skin renews. If you’re on a overnight flight it’s the perfect time for some shut-eye. We recommend slathering on some of our Rose Renew face cream for some deep hydrating, renewal and plumping properties the glycolic acid works wonders when used liberally as an overnight treatment. After your slumber, your skin will be soft and smooth.
