We recently covered the ancient art of Face Mapping here where we talked about how each area of your face specifically relates to an organ of your body and how to improve those areas through lifestyle and diet in this post we take a look at the actual skin conditions affecting your skin and some easy things you can do to help.
We’re taught to know that there are 4 skin types; dry, oily, combination and normal. What we don’t know is that you can also have more that one at the same time. It’s common to have various skin concerns on different areas of your face however by applying the simple principle of face mapping it is so easy to get right and your skin will thank you for using this multi tasking method! Here is how specifically you can cope with the varying concerns.
Most people have oily parts down the center of the face, more commonly known as the t-zone. You should still cleanse this part of the face with your natural facial cleanser but it may require a little more detoxing. Once a week, try a clay mask to draw out impurities and excess oil.
Some people, especially those who wear makeup and SPF daily, can get congested areas of their skin. This can look like clogged pores, blackheads and even whiteheads. To treat this area, use an AHA or BHA toner after cleansing. These products have anti-bacterial properties to clean out the skin and prevent further congestion.
Dry skin is where the skin is lacking oil and can seem flaky and dull in appearance. Exfoliation is great for dry skin so treat yourself to a gentle scrub once a week. After treating, use a lovely natural facial oil (ours is 100% natural!) and have a massage. If you have really dry patches, you can use a hydrating balm to coat it- leaving it soothed overnight.
Dehydrated skin can feel tight and uncomfortable after washing and have a sallow appearance. Most people confuse dry and dehydrated skins and don’t know the difference. Dehydrated skins lack water, so drinking lots of water and using hydrating ingredients is the best course of action. Our best-selling organic face serum contains hyaluronic acid which can hold 100X it’s weight in water, therefore hydrating the skin!
Your under eye area doesn’t produce its own moisture so you need to treat it separately. Always use an anti-ageing organic eye cream and only ever use your ring finger to apply the product. The ring finger has the least amount of pressure, therefore, does the least amount of damage.
