BEATING THE SUMMER HEAT: 3 FEEL GOOD SKIN CARE TIPS
We spent months counting down the days to our first bit of summer sunshine and while we’ve been loving these longer, brighter days, there’s no denying that it has been hot. A little too hot for comfort.
Don’t get us wrong, we love the warm, golden rays as much as the next person, but when the humidity is high and it feels like we are slowly baking in an oven, we can’t help but dream of milder days, especially since we aren’t used to this kind of heat in our part of the world!
You may notice the weather really takes a toll on your skin on steamier days, so in this article, we’d like give you a few tips to help nourish and care for your skin so it can stay cool, calm and collected no matter how high the temperatures soar!
CLOSE YOUR PORES WITH COOL WATER AFTER CLEANSING
Cleansing is an absolutely essential part of any skincare routine, but it becomes even more important in the warmer months. After a day of sweating, your pores may become clogged with sweat, dirt, and grime so it’s important to cleanse away the dirt of the day with a good cleanser.
Our natural Regenerating Face Wash is loaded in antioxidants and nutrients to revitalize, cleanse and brighten the skin. This face wash will unclog your pores without disrupting your skin’s delicate moisture balance and it will infuse it with antioxidants to fight off aging free radicals.
One of our favorite tips is to always rinse the skin with cool water after cleansing. This helps to close the pores and prevent dirt from being able to enter the skin and, of course, it feels wonderfully refreshing on hot summer skin!
APPLY YOUR OILS CORRECTLY FOR BETTER ABSORPTION
Many people apply their oils the same way they would their face moisturiser, without realizing that this is incorrect. The particles in an oil are larger and need to be pressed into the skin to really be able to sink down deep. After cleansing, apply a few drops of your organic facial oil to the palm of your hand and then dip your fingers in and press the oil into your skin (don’t rub) until fully absorbed. Unlike moisturisers, natural facial oils do not contain water so apply your oils to slightly damp skin for better absorption.
DON’T FORGET THESE COMMONLY NEGLECTED AREAS
We focus so much attention on our facial skin that other areas like our neck and under eyes are often neglected.
When applying your facial products always start at the neck, working your way up to prevent sagging. Remember, the neck shows the signs of aging just as much as the face so it’s important to not forget about it.
